Yes I know there are only four, but I prepared the soil, planted the seeds, carefully watered them, watched them sprout and finally produce. There are more almost ready to pick, but I'm waiting for Jeff to return from Miami so he can be part of the harvesting. Or at least watch me harvest. Harvest makes it sound like there's a lot of them. :)

This makes me incredibly happy.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 294px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QgFwA-wb3cg/S8SleXHw11I/AAAAAAAAAio/-foWc6FX1So/s320/radish-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459670589301118802" />

oooh just found this video on sprouting radish seeds. check it

amyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05309077969725425408noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14610735.post-45355704948849206462010-03-11T12:39:00.005-05:002010-03-11T13:08:20.999-05:00Winter blues?Winter blues got you down? I can't believe it! Of course I need the perfect gift. I've done pretty good so far. He loves the texture of blanket I made him. He also loves the soft chiming elephant I gave him, I loved it too.
While shooting for Pregnancy & Newborn magazine this month. This toy landed on my set. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QgFwA-wb3cg/S4K4DXwu3RI/AAAAAAAAAhQ/MGYPWi7p6ws/s320/P%26N-105.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5441113667874512146" />
I loved it! A mini veggie garden, it crinkles, rattles and it's vegetables. I wanted it for him and myself.

When I looked it up online, it said 6+ months. I had second thoughts. He's going to be 1 year old, after all. He needs toys that challenge him.

He loves books and loves when you read to him. I want to encourage his love of reading, just like my mom did for me. So I headed to the adorable Little Shop of Stories in Decatur and picked out 3 board books. If you haven't been to LSS, go! They were very helpful and even gift wrapped the books for me.

In a year or two, I'm getting him this.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 280px; height: 280px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QgFwA-wb3cg/S4K4DDwf4MI/AAAAAAAAAhI/jlaa-JosUtY/s320/51sW7-akZHL._SL500_AA280_.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5441113662504820930" />amyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05309077969725425408noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14610735.post-3799779126547195902010-02-22T11:41:00.004-05:002010-02-22T11:46:00.716-05:00fur balls & dust bunniesIt's that time of year again. We've had enough rain here in Georgia to prompt some people to start building an ark. But this Burberry trench coat will make you wish for rain. Oh so chic with great details. The folks from Emory Healthcare wanted to do some food shots to go along with the recipes on their website. It was important that we stayed true to the recipe and that the food actually tasted good. We had a lot of fun and got to snack on some tasty treats.
Below is the Blueberry Wake Up Shake.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 261px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QgFwA-wb3cg/S32tM3oty2I/AAAAAAAAAe0/Q_lsyMWgwoM/s320/Emory+Healthcare-4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5439694361538186082" />

Recipe:

Wake-Up Shake

1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1/2 cup ice cubes
2 tablespoons slivered almonds
1 tablespoon honey
1 (6-ounce) container vanilla low-fat yogurt
1 small banana
2 tablespoons low-fat granola without raisins

Combine blueberries and next 5 ingredients in a blender; process until smooth. Our goal was to leave by 11:00 am. Gotta get there early to get the chili. We left about 11:30, parked on Chester and made our way over to the park.

We hit the restaurant chili first and Ria's was my favorite! Then we slowly made our way to the competitors chili. We got to Tye street about 12:30 and folks were out or running out. We were still able fill our bellies with some good chili and some not so good chili.

As we were making our to the Sweetwater beer truck. For restaurants and businesses, we provide resources, tools, products and training to reduce their environmental impact AND save green.

WHY DO WE CARE?
In the Pacific Ocean there's an area twice the size of Texas where the plastic to plankton ratio has been measured as more than 6:1. We now know 90% of marine trash is made of plastic - and 80% comes from land and local watersheds. Plastic is being mistaken for krill, eaten by fish, and is now entering our food chain.

YIKES!

Support this great cause by visiting their website and learning more about the Half Off Green program. Perfect!"
Below are a few shots from the shoot.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 292px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_QgFwA-wb3cg/StiLJhlIWVI/AAAAAAAAAdk/HPnNfFXE1HI/s320/Pine+Street+Market-4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393213549525358930" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 243px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_QgFwA-wb3cg/StiLJKELaAI/AAAAAAAAAdc/oGeEKUCQz2Q/s320/Coppa.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393213543213131778" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 282px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QgFwA-wb3cg/StiLItU34yI/AAAAAAAAAdU/owUxIV79vvM/s320/Ham-2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393213535498527522" />amyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05309077969725425408noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14610735.post-86771165540861390872009-10-14T16:03:00.004-04:002009-10-14T16:24:46.098-04:00Blog revivalSo after attending the latest Lady Rogue Business Network meeting and hearing from the woman at NewTricks . I've decided to rededicate myself to blogging. Of course that was a few weeks ago... So over the next week I will be blogging about all the fun stuff I've been doing this summer, including a shoot at Pine Street market , a trip to Field of Greens and a Corn Maze!

Until then check out the pics I took of theUrban Oasis B&B. This is where our LRBN meeting was held and the place is amazing. YAY!

Here are the tips that I used to keep them from taking off to the neighbor's yard.

1. Put them in the fridge for at least an hour. Mine were in for 3 hours. They go dormant in the fridge.

2. Water your garden first, then spray sugar water in your garden. The ladybugs will eat the sugar water until they find the aphids.

3. Release the ladybugs at dusk or when the sun is not out. I released my ladybugs around 6pm, it was cloudy and set to rain.

I can't wait until next year to do it again!amyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05309077969725425408noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14610735.post-17590203669565222952009-05-23T22:27:00.009-04:002009-05-24T10:14:58.627-04:00The impatient and annoyed gardenerThe title says it all. I'm impatiently waiting for my veggies to produce. :) So I found other ways to entertain myself in the garden. I'm also annoyed at the aphids that are eating my beans to bits. Today I released 1800 ladybugs into the garden. That was fun! My little natural born killers. Go eat aphids! I found my ladybugs at Hastings for $9.99.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QgFwA-wb3cg/ShixmhiipbI/AAAAAAAAAZk/BfV8OCwoa0E/s320/ladybug.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339212633644115378" />

In other news we planted two heirloom brandywine tomatoes.
